Soooo..... I started this blog months ago, but didn't do much with it.
Since I suggested to my daughter, who recently moved to New York, that she should start a Blog to chronicle her new life experiences, I am shamed into "do as I say and do as I do"......
I hope that you will learn to interact as well in this new forum.

The ordinance letter that Mel is referring to is as follows:
Good Afternoon Councilors;
I just wanted to convey my feelings regarding Ordinance C2006-9 - Amendment to Land Use Ordinance - that is coming up at your next council meeting.
As a taxpayer, I feel that this is an unnecessary Ordinance. It definitely has gapping holes which makes it open to interpretation; or "in the eyes of the beholder".
It is my understanding that there is a current State of Maine Law regarding this subject, and that is fully enforceable and enough protection for our town. (I am going to try to find out more on this).
I have heard from other Dexter residents that I am not alone in my feelings about this ordinance.
It feels that we (Dexter, as well as our country) is becoming a 'communist state' with all the rules and regulations put upon us on by our local, state and federal governments. It is after all, our own property upon which we are paying local taxes.
I hope that you will consider "my opinion" when you vote for or against yet another frivolous Ordinance.

This is going to be reviewed and worked on at the next Planning Board meeting, October 26th at the Town Council Chambers, 7 pm.
I encourage all citizens who are interested to attend.
